|
Oak Wilt is a disease that is robbing property owners of beautiful shade trees and respectable property values. Methods are available to reduce its spread and minimize its impact. To reduce the spread of oak wilt in Texas the Texas Forest Service with cooperation from local, state and federal agencies will help landowners control the spread of oak wilt by providing technical assistance and a 50% reimbursement if your property qualifies.
Specialty Site Services, Inc. method of oak wilt trenching does just that. Our trenches are cut at 54" deep by 4" to 8" wide. What makes our method stand out from the rest? First of all, we cut our trenches deeper than any one else in the state of Texas. Using a rubber tire rock saw that cuts to a maximum depth of 56" is quite remarkable. Our machine is known to be the largest rubber tire rock saw in the world. Our saw has the ability to backfill the trench as we are cutting the trench. This aspect alone saves you the customer in two important ways. 1) Our cost for labor is reduced considerably because there is just a very small amount of hand and shovel work. 2) There is never an open trench, which is a very important safety factor for your children, pets, livestock, etc… At first glance our rock saw might appear
intimidating, however the rubber tires allow us to cross lawns or other
manicured areas without leaving deep ruts or unwanted damage to property,
driveways and streets. If your oak wilt project involves driveway cuts, street cuts, underground utilities or fences you can breathe easy. Specialty Site Services Inc. personnel are experienced with the proper replacement methods and uses only quality materials. It is important to note that these obstacles don't play a very big role in bidding a project. Specialty Site Services, Inc. has all of the proper tools and equipment to return each oak wilt project to its original and proper state. It is unfortunate that your property has oak wilt. However you are fortunate that our company has a rock saw that can and will go to the deepest depths to do your project right the first time. We could not begin to count the amount of properties that we have had to trench for owners because they only went 36" two or three years ago. As any oak wilt expert will tell you "the deeper the better". Remember that the prevention of oak wilt is in the hands of property owners and Specialty Site Services, Inc. is here to help.
